Several external factors facilitate obesity

Whether work is one of them is still subjected to a lot of arguments, but there’s almost no doubt on certain lifestyles that turn people overweight by promoting less physical activities. And it’s a proven fact that certain types of works make obesity lead to several problems; one such are the cardiac disorders.

Let’s strike the difference between obesity and being overweight first to facilitate the discussion. For women, overweight means at least 33% body fat more than what should be according to the ideal BMI; for men, it’s 19% or more. Age is a vital factor if you want to get into finer calculations and that applies for obesity as well, which is 39% for women and 25% for men. Or in short, overweight is a Body Mass Index or BMI between 25-29.9; if it is 30 or more, it’s obesity.

Like told before, whether certain types of works promote obesity is still under a lot of doubt, but there’s no doubt that external factors (unless as extreme as nuclear radiations) take a lot of time to alter the genes. Obesity stays rooted in the genes. Thus, we may say that certain types of works worsen the effects of obesity but do not give rise to it. But being overweight is a problem with a lot of people doing desk-bound jobs and graveyard shifts; for them, obesity is not an irreversible phenomenon.

Both obesity and weight gain affect work and life performances by reducing the quality of both. The most tremendous impacts are brought over by the heart disorders, followed by diabetes, certain cancers, cerebro-vascular complicacies, blindness, hypertension, mortal levels of LDL formation, urinogenital and pulmonary diseases and the least, the bone and joint related problems. The results are more number of sick leaves, lack of concentration and motivation leading to psychological disorders.

However, we don’t need to wait for the day when the connection shall be proven fully; it’s better to get started on the preventive measures ASAP. Thus, welcome foods like blueberries, eggs, spinach, broccoli, tea, nuts, Omega-3 rich foods and fish into your diet while bidding goodbye to all that is artificial, sugary and sweet i.e. fattening. That’s fast food, the edible bubblegum. Instead, replace them with half the former amount of simple carbs. It shall also prevent your system from going into a shock and reserving the existent quota in the form of flab.
