Male Rhinoplasty

February 4th, 2010 Dan Hicks No comments

Men are using surgical options to change their noses in order to correct breathing issues and change their appearance in greater numbers today than ever before. Because an overly prominent nose is thought to draw too much attention to itself and overwhelm other parts of the face the largest proportion of male rhinoplasty patients are those requesting size reduction of their noses.

Still other men may be concerned about the overall shape of their noses, requesting a change because of unhappiness with the size of a dorsal hump in the center of the nose or a drooping nose. While rhinoplasty procedures for men and women are fairly similar, the main difference in the sexes is that males are advised to wait a bit longer to assure their features are mature before electing for a surgical intervention. The female face is considered done growing at roughly seventeen while men are advised to put of surgery until they are at least twenty.

Modern rhinoplasty involves more than just taking out tissue to decrease the size of a person’s nose. A properly done rhinoplasty needs to be done by a surgeon who will be sure the nose as it is remade will blend with the patient’s other facial features rather than just changing the nose to a desired model.

In order to create the best overall outcome and in some cases a more dramatic change in appearance male rhinoplasty patients may receive recommendations to add other cosmetic alterations such as a chin implant or even a full facelift along with the desired rhinoplasty.

Computer imaging is often used in pre-surgery consultations by plastic surgeons to help patients understand what changes may be made by a rhinoplasty operation, this way patients may see results before committing. This step in consultation allows the patient to understand the limitations of cosmetic surgery as well as the benefits so that he may be more confident going into the procedure with a full understanding of what he is committing to.

It is also the surgeon’s duty to explain possible risks and side effects of cosmetic procedures such as infection, swelling, bruising, possible visible scarring, nerve damage, broken capillaries, excessive bleeding and complications with anesthesia. Information will also be shared with the patient as to how the patient and physician can become a team, working toward the best possible outcome and the smoothest, speediest recovery time.

If the patient is fit for and agrees to the details of his surgery plan his surgeon will then schedule the rhinoplasty procedure to be completed at a day surgery facility. Surgery is performed under local or general anesthesia and may take from one to three hours depending on the extent of the surgical work to be done.

Many male rhinoplasty patients find that they have little pain or may even be pain free after their procedures. If they follow aftercare instructions patients should be back to their usual schedules after a few days. Post surgery swelling should disappear within about three weeks.

Increase Penis Length

December 28th, 2009 Dan Hicks No comments

Most guys I know would love to get a longer penis. In actual fact, it is estimated that approximately 99% of all men would love to increase their penis length. Therefore, in this article I would like to introduce you to the 3 most popular ways to increase penis length. However, having studied this subject for a number of months, I personally don’t see the need for 2 of the ways to get a longer penis!

1) Surgery – during penile enlargement surgery the suspensory ligament, which runs from the base to the tip of the penis is severed. Once this ligament is cut into, the penis will drop allowing for an additional inch or so in the length of your penis. However, what a lot of guys don’t know is after surgery you will need to carry out a strict routine of hanging weights off your manhood.

If you don’t do this, unfortunately surgery alone will make no difference to your member. What’s even worse is that occasionally scar tissue can form where the penis has been cut into. If this happens, your penis can actually be drawn back into the body, hence giving the illusion of a smaller penis!

2) Penis extenders – Honestly, when I first heard about penis extenders I had to laugh. Then when I saw how popular they were and how many guys actually used them, I started to become worried! In order to increase penis length, you will have to wear a penis extender for many hours a day. The use of these contraptions is often supplemented by taking pills. The pills are intended to increase the blood flow throughout your manhood.

My problem with a penis extender is that although I have never tried one, it must be very uncomfortable to have a 6-7 inch plastic “toy” stuffed down your trousers for hours and hours a day. Additionally, what do you do if you need to use the bathroom, as you surely will many times a day? I have also heard of horror stories of men getting a bruised and battered penis from the constant tension that is applied. Even worse is the fear of burst blood vessels!

3) Penis Exercising – OK I may be biased as exercising to get a longer penis is my method of choice. However exercising to increase penis length involves stretching the suspensory ligament on a regular basis and also increasing the blood flow to your member. There are many other exercises that work on increasing girth, stamina and the overall fitness of your penis.

I find it hard to understand why guys turn to surgery, extenders and pills when you can accomplish exactly the same results through exercising. Perhaps the time involved with exercising to increase penis length may be a factor. However, the cost is substantially less than the other methods. Exercising to get a longer penis is far safer than the other methods and most importantly you are fully in control of your growth and don’t have to rely on any outside influences.

Azoospermia

December 24th, 2009 Dan Hicks No comments

Azoospermia is the medical state and condition of a male not having any measurable level of sperm in his semen. It is connected and related with very low levels of fertility. When there are no sperms in the semen then the condition is known as “azoospermia”.
Get more information how to increase low sperm count and remedies for male infertility.

Sperm count indicates the fertilizing capacity and when the sperm count is below normal (low sperm count) the condition is called as “oligospermia“.

Semen is a white or gray colored liquid. It comes out of the urethra (a tube in male organ through which urine get flows out of urinary bladder) on ejaculation during the over peak of orgasm.

Quantity of semen:
The normal quantity of semen will be just 2- 5 ml. Each ml of semen consists of millions of sperms and the fluid portion of semen is called seminal plasma. Semen acts as a vehicle to carry the spermatozoa or sperms.

The quantity of ejaculated semen will be more when there is an extended abstinence.

The quantity of semen will be then less when there are very frequent ejaculations.

If the quantity of semen is less than the 1.5 ml constantly then the condition is called as hypospermia. If the quantity of sperm is more than 6ml constantly then the condition is exactly known as hyperspermia.

Color of semen: The normal semen is grey or white in color. If the color of semen is yellowish or red or pink, it suggests that the presence of some pathology in urinogenital system. Hence men with the red or yellowish semen should immediately seek the advice of family physician.

Semen clotting and liquefaction time:
Semen clots goes by immediately after ejaculation. It will liquefy in again in 5 – 40 minutes. When semen fails to clot and liquefy after, then it indicates fertility problems.

Sperm Count: At least there must be a 20 million sperms per ml of semen. The total number of sperms should be just at least 40 million. 75% of the sperms should be alive. 30% of sperms should be in of normal shape and form. 25% of sperms should swim rapidly with forward movement.

Causes for low sperm count:
a) Infected semen
b) Heat? (Heat reduces total sperm production. Hence tight underpants, bathing into very hot water, sitting for long hours, over weight in which fat layers sag on testicles reduce sperm count)
c) Very frequent semen ejaculations also lead to the lowered sperm count and man may become effectively infertile. Hence by maintaining a gap of 3 days between two consecutive ejaculations keeps a man more fertile.
d) Smoking.
e) Excessive intake of alcohol.
f) Over exertion physically and mentally.
g) Varicocele.
h) Hydrocele.
i) Infections present in prostate gland.
j) Malformed genital organs.
k) Toxic pollutants
l) Zinc deficiency
m) Anabolic steroid use

Treatment for Prostate Enlargement

December 22nd, 2009 Dan Hicks No comments

Prostate gland enlargement is a general condition as men get older and also called as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostatic hypertrophy; prostate gland enlargement can cause bothersome urinary symptoms. Prostate gland enlargement can obstruct the flow of urine out of the bladder and can cause bladder, urinary tract or kidney problems.
Get more information on treatment for prostate and remedies for enlarged prostate.

Symptoms of Prostate include: Progressive urinary frequency and urgency, and night time awakening for urination, urinary hesitancy and intermittence, and also reduced force of urine. If it left untreated, this will ultimately obstruct bladder outlet.

Himplasia -Originally developed as a treatment for prostate enlargement, it is a drug that is also helpful in solving male pattern baldness (male hair loss) problem because of prostate enlargement.

During the 1980 and early 1990 a lot of time and money was spent on research to find a cure for enlarged prostate in men. The condition was and still is very common, affecting about half of all men in their 60’s and possibly 95 % of all men until the age of 80. As a man gets older the condition worsens progressively with increasing prostate enlarges putting pressure on the bladder. Symptoms may show up as a stream of urine and difficulty in maintaining the need to urinate frequently. This progresses to more serious and painful conditions such as urinary tract infections and the development of bladder stones.

Researchers had found that the state and condition was caused by a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It then became clear why the condition was only found in men, as DHT is created from the male hormone testosterone by the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, DHT Known only positive role is to expand the male genitalia during fetal development. Once the mechanism of how and why the prostate were being affected a Herbal medicine called Himplasia was developed that prevented an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase from converting testosterone into DHT harmful.

The herbal remedy was extremely successful in treating prostate enlargement and soon became used widely.

It is now generally accepted that DHT causes hair loss, although the actual mechanism that causes the condition is still uncertain. One theory is that DHT interrupts the normal hair growth cycle by shortening the growth (anagen), hair and stretching the resting phase (telogen).

Once the link between DHT and hair loss has been established that opened the floodgates with companies trying to produce the most effective form of anti-baldness drug. Research found that soon a much smaller dose of the herbal medicine, about one fifth of that required for the treatment of prostate enlargement was forced to stop hair loss. This was good news for the creation of a safer medicine, but there are still a number of side effects that should be considered in our before use. These side effects include erectile dysfunction, loss of libido and gynecomastia that is, the enlargement of breasts in men. Himplasia is not recognized or known to have any side effects as per the prescribed recommendation. So please consult your physician to prescribe the dosage that best suits your condition.
Some alternative treatment to support prostate health:
- Take warm sitz baths
- Drink more water
- Avoid prolonged bicycle riding, horseback riding or other exercises that annoy the region below the prostate
- Practise yoga
- Take health supplements

Infertility Treatments for Men

December 1st, 2009 Dan Hicks No comments

For males the first thing a doctor will do is a semen analysis. This will show if you have a sufficient sperm count and if your sperm is healthy. If you as a couple choose to do fertility treatment and choose insemination, then the male’s sperm will be accumulated and then concentrated so that the number of healthy sperm is utilized for insemination to increase the chances of getting pregnant.

If this doesn’t work, then your doctor might possibly recommend trying intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). They will do this in a lab, and he’ll inject a healthy sperm into your partner’s egg. And if fertilization takes place then the new embryo will be inserted back into your partner’s uterus (just like in vitro fertilization (IVF)).

The male may also have had a vasectomy, or even diagnosed with retrograde ejaculation. A vasectomy is where the male has had his vasa deferentia severed and tied. This is where the sperm is carried from the epididymis until ejaculation occurs. Retrograde ejaculation is where the males semen is ejaculated into the bladder, rather than out through the penis. If this is the case, then the doctor can take sperm from the male’s testicles and can be used in the lab to be injected in the female’s egg. The sperm can also be taken from the bladder and cleaned, and also used for insemination.

However, in rare cases, fertility problems are caused by a hormonal imbalance. If this is the case, your doctor will treat you with medicine and possibly hormones. These include GnRH, gonadotropins, and bromocriptine. These fertility treatments will facilitate the male’s hypothalamus and pituitary glands establish regular sperm production.

If you don’t have healthy sperm or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) doesn’t work for your partner, then you’ll have two more options. You’ll have to talk to your significant other and outweigh the risks and benefits. You’ll have to either use another males sperm or choose to adopt.

Think About Fertility Treatments Before You Act

First discuss the issue with your partner and plan ahead. Think about how exhausting emotionally, physically, and financially fertility treatments are. If you do decide to step forward into finding the right treatment, then make sure you know what each treatment does. As with both medicines and assisted reproductive technology (i.e. IVF), it will increase your chances in having twins or even more babies which you wouldn’t have planned for. Also there is no guarantee that your baby will be born healthy.

Before taking hormone shots, seek medical advice from your doctor so you know about complications that can occur such as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. This is where the ovaries are overstimulated in assisted reproductive technology (ART). This is type of fertility treatment that uses more than one egg to increase the chances of an embryo growing and you becoming pregnant. Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome can be life threatening, and is associated with vomiting, shortness of breath, and nausea. A life threatening symptom includes fluid buildup around the lungs, heart, and abdomen.

When researching clinics success rates you have to remember that some clinics treat more severe fertility problems than other clinics. Thus, their success rate will be lower; however they might be more educated and have a greater expertise in the area, thus the better choice.
