Cancer Cures: Is This New Product as Good as it Sounds?

January 26th, 2012 No comments

From a faraway place comes news of an exciting new cancer remedy…is it too good to be true, or is it a long-forgotten health tonic?

Recently, we were visited by relatives from Down Under and listened with interest to their story about a local gentleman who was making waves with a rather old fashioned product: purple carrot juice. They talked animatedly about this amazing ‘new’ product as if it was a miracle cure-all, and of course it caught our attention, especially given that another close relative happens to be battling cancer at the moment.

cancer curesAccording to the Australian relatives, some people who were challenged with cancer began taking this unusual sounding juice on the advice of someone local and they both found it to be very healing. Why purple carrot juice, we wondered, and if it was so great why didn’t everyone know about it? After a little digging, we found out that the purple version of the ubiquitous orange root vegetable fell out of favour many years ago – nearly a century, actually – and thus was no longer cultivated as widely as it once had been. For whatever reason, orange carrots became a fad some time ago and they have now become what we all think of when we think of carrots.

Orange carrots are, of course, high in many healthy nutrients such as beta-carotene precursors and fiber, but the purple carrot has this one beat by a long shot. Extremely high in antioxidants, the purple carrot is about to come out of obscurity, judging by the early human health results. The couple who had been facing cancer and began consuming purple carrot juice claim it made a huge difference in their health, helping to heal them. This is undoubtedly a large claim, and while more clinical trials will provide more detailed results, the evidence we’ve seen sounds promising.

Some wise business-oriented gentleman in Australia has taken the bull by the horns and developed a concentrated product combining this promising juice with concentrated red grape juice (Shiraz), also known for its health-giving properties, including antioxidants but also resveratrol and polyphenols. A bottle of this potent product was generously shipped to us by the relative in question, and we began including it in our diet immediately. We also were sent a bottle for the close relative who is actually battling cancer and currently undergoing chemotherapy.

Putting Pressure On Your Heart

January 26th, 2012 No comments

These days there are hundreds of tests for thousands of different diseases, some that require only a vial of blood, others that include an x-ray, and those that are a bit more invasive-tiny wires inserted into blood vessels to detect problems. In testing the condition of the heart, doctors prefer to begin with the least invasive of all tests: the stress test. No, you will not be tied down to a chair and shown your piling unpaid bills, nor will you be shoved off a bridge with a bungee cord wrapped around your ankles. (Both scenarios may already be stressing you out a little.) A stress test is, for some people, even more awful than that because it involves… exercise!

you and your blood pressure

A stress test gives doctors information about how a patient’s heart works during  physical stress (the part where you can’t breathe and think that you are surely going to die). The test usually involves walking or running on a treadmill or pedaling on a stationary bike to make your heart beat faster. Your heart rate, blood pressure, and electrocardiogram are measured at this time. A stress test can help doctors determine if enough blood is flowing to your heart when you are active, determine your likelihood of developing heart disease, identify abnormal heart rhythms, and help you develop a safe exercise program (that will not make you feel like you might be dying from a heart attack).

There are a few different types of stress tests that can be performed, depending on how you react to each. If you are able to walk or run on the treadmill and produce a normal ECG, that may be the only test required for doctors tell the condition of your heart. If you are unable to exercise drugs can be administered to make the heart beat faster, just like if you were exercising. (Unfortunately it doesn’t help you burn any calories at all.) A stress echocardiogram (or an “echo”) produced those wiggly lines you often see on medical shows, offering a visual of the heart’s movement under stress. The echo can reveal a lack of blood flow that other tests may not reveal. Finally, a nuclear stress test involves a small amount of radioactive substance that is injected into you. The doctor then uses a camera to see a clear picture of the heart tissue. No superpowers are promised.

putting_pressure_on_heart

There are, of course, risks associated with stress tests, though none that are too dangerous. Only one in 5,000 people will experience a heart attack during a stress test. Other risks include arrhythmia (an abnormal heartbeat), low blood pressure, and general discomfort. And if you do pass out on the treadmill during a stress test, it may not be your heart that is a problem. It could be your lungs or anemia or a general distaste for exercise. If you’ve never exercised before, a stress test is likely to be very, very stressful.

Hemochromatosis: Iron on Overload

January 26th, 2012 No comments

Hemochromatosis is a common genetic disease in which the body absorbs too much iron. If left untreated the condition can cause serious health problems and even death. The disease has two categorizations, primary and secondary. Primary hemochromatosis is caused by a genetic condition in which two faulty genes are inherited, one from each parent. These genes cause the body to absorb too much iron from food. Secondary hemochromatosis is caused by a disease or other condition that causes excess iron absorption, such as liver disease. Another condition that can cause the secondary case is the intake of too much vitamin C, as this vitamin alone causes the body to absorb iron.

There are many symptoms and resulting complications from hemochromatosis. This disease affects various organs in the body, not the least of which is the liver. Among the many functions that the liver performs is that of iron storage. Therefore, an overload of iron in the body causes the liver to store too much of it, which can result in an enlarged liver, cirrhosis (scarring), liver failure, or other liver damage and/or toxicity. Other organs that can be affected are the pancreas and the heart. Particularly with the heart, hemochromatosis can cause irregular heartbeats and also heart failure. With the pancreas comes the risk of diabetes. Other symptoms in general include joint damage and pain, as well as gray- or bronze-colored marks or “splotches” on the skin. Not only can these blotches be permanent, but they can be particularly unsightly and form on such areas as the lower legs and feet, presumably due to a combination of the excess iron pooling in these areas and the circulatory distance of these lower extremities from the heart.

The body does not have a way to rid itself of the excess iron stored within it, nor is there a cure for the disease itself. Therefore, medical intervention is often necessary, in which various treatment options are available. One of the more common treatments is a phlebotomy, in which small quantities of blood are removed on a regular basis, lowering the body’s iron content to an acceptable level. Other tests and procedures include taking a biopsy of the liver to see how much iron it currently has stored. An MRI of the liver will show this as well. A genetic test can be done, too, which can give an indication of whether a person has the two faulty genes responsible for the disease. However, even if the individual has those two genes it is not a guarantee they will develop symptoms of the disease itself.

Chiropractic – Proper Neck Posture

January 26th, 2012 No comments
Neck posture is something few of us ever think of, but many of us experience neck pain from not observing ideal neck positioning. Proper neck posture will alleviate many difficulties. It is important to follow recommended posture or various long-term physical problems may occur. Here are some common situations where most people do not have proper neck posture.

Today, just about everyone uses a computer at home or at work. However, very rarely will we sit in the proper position with our feet flat on the floor, our back straight, and our head firmly back toward the headrest of the chair. Our head weighs about as much as a bowling ball. If our head is directly over our shoulders our neck and upper back can handle the weight. However, if our head is even one inch forward it effectively increases the weight of the head by some ten pounds. Stop where you are right now and measure the angle of your head. It is more likely you are leaning forward about three inches, increasing the weight by thirty pounds. No wonder our neck, shoulders and upper back ache!

Neck discomfort is also often caused by bad support when resting. People who prop up their head with a bunch of pillows and lie on their sides or rest on the arm of the sofa are in danger of neck pain from this position. This will often result in neck and shoulder pain that is quite uncomfortable. Furthermore, that neck pain can also cause horrible headaches, possibly even migraines.

Something else to consider is the lack of proper eyewear. This may seem an odd link to neck discomfort, but being unable to see properly will often cause a person to lean forward, especially when driving. Someone who has long commutes to work or drives for a living is likely to experience chronic neck pain from this habit.

Neck pain is not the only concern here. Abusers of improper neck posture can also experience conditions such as pinched nerves, arthritis, and back issues. It is not uncommon for someone with chronic, poor neck posture to have degeneration of the discs of the neck or cervical spine.

Many people know that chiropractic treatment can help with neck pain. Your chiropractor will also give you advice on proper posture. Some simple, quick stretching and strengthening exercises can help, not only with alleviating your neck pain but, if continued, can keep the pain from reoccurring.

5 Things You Learn From First Aid Training

January 25th, 2012 No comments

Are you serious about helping somebody when they are in need of some life support treatment? Then it is high time you thought about undergoing first aid training. Agreed, you have got the heart to help others, but it is not going to be enough to save a person when they may be in dire straits. First and foremost, you need to be aware of several things and responsibilities to be able to administer necessary life saving exercises.

Even though, every one of us loves to learn first aid, many do not know what it is like to support victims when they are in a state of trauma. You should stay levelheaded and overcome the apprehensions when you are forced to deliver.

first aid trainingHandling such situations with care comes with proper first aid training. Let us delve into some aspects that only first aid training can provide you with.

1) There is a marked improvement, before and after first aid training, in the way first aid givers react impromptu to such terrible situations. The level of preparation that the training showered on them is the reason behind such an obvious change. This goes to show that being repulsed by the sight of cuts and wounds becomes a thing of the past when one undergoes a proper first aid training course.

2) A person can provide better support after going through several insightful sessions of first aid training. Among the very many pointers that one picks up during the training course in the wake of a ghastly accident involving cuts and bruises, one needs to hold your senses, without being very much squeamish. As stipulated in the manuals of first aid training, you would be able to sit by the side of the victim.

3) As said before, the benefits of going through a course in first aid are very many in number. The training inculcates basic steps to be followed with respect to the situation, which may vary anywhere from mild to severe. After all, the severity of a situation depends on the extent of injury and in turn the importance of prompt action. In any case, a first aid giver should be very much there by the side of the victim, till the emergency medical aid is at hand.

4) First aid programmes are designed to prepare you for the worst. There are several real life scenarios, case studies and other activities that require interaction. This is how the training provides an insight into the way you need to carry yourself without distraught, pain and fear.

5) Register yourself with umbrella authorized centers which come under the direct supervision of health care centers, as part of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. These centers have distinguished staff offering HIPAA training online and in many other notable cities in the USA. These centers allow partakers like you to complete the training at your own pace, and provide an appropriate certificate at the end of the program of your choosing, marking your special achievement.

Find a reliable training center to enroll yourself to, no matter what or why. Become certified to save a life.

Want Healthy Blood? Then Check Out These 4 Isoflavone Benefits

January 25th, 2012 No comments

The isoflavones are a group of non-essential nutrients that can be found in soybeans. Although they are not required for human survival, these plant based nutrients have numerous health benefits. Studies have shown that they can prevent cancer, assist in the treatment of diabetes and much more. In this article I will be taking a deeper look at this topic and breaking down 4 isoflavone benefits.

1) FIGHTING FREE RADICALS:

Free radicals are destructive substances that your body’s cells release as a by-product of oxygen related reactions. They have a number of nasty symptoms which include increasing your risk of contracting cancer (a health disorder where your cells start to grow in a rapid, uncontrollable way), increasing your risk of contracting diabetes (a health disorder which causes your blood glucose levels to become extremely high) and accelerating the ageing process. Fortunately, the isoflavones can minimise the effects free radicals have on your body by acting as antioxidants (substances that protect your body’s cells from free radicals).

2) REDUCING YOUR CANCER RISK:

Cancer is an unpleasant health disorder where the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) in your body’s cells gets damaged and stimulates rapid, uncontrollable cellular growth. Over time this rapid growth develops into a tumour which can become cancerous. Cancerous tumours then spread to other areas of the body and destroy the cells that surround them. The good news is 1 of the key isoflavone benefits is cancer prevention. Research has shown that these nutrients act in a protective capacity against this nasty disease and are particularly effective at preventing breast cancer and prostate cancer.

3) SUPPORTING HEALTHY BLOOD FLOW:

Your blood has a number of important roles in the body. It carries oxygen to where it is needed, assists in the removal of waste materials and helps fight disease and infection as part of the immune system. The isoflavones ensure that blood can always get to where it is needed by preventing atherosclerosis (a condition where hard plaques form on the artery walls and block the flow of blood) and help to maintain a healthy blood supply in your body at all times.

4) TREATING DIABETES:

Diabetes is a nasty disease where your blood glucose reaches significantly high levels. It develops either when your pancreas stops producing enough insulin (the hormone which allows your body’s cells to take glucose from the blood) or when your body’s cells stop responding to insulin. Untreated diabetes can cause serious damage to your blood vessels, cells and vital organs. Fortunately, 1 of the important isoflavone benefits is that they can prevent and treat diabetes. They do this by making your cells more receptive to insulin and controlling the level of glucose in your blood.

SUMMARY:

Most UK diets contain very few isoflavones. If you are not currently eating them you could be missing out on some serious health benefits. Edamame soybeans can be found in the majority of supermarkets and are a great alternative to traditional salads or vegetables. So next time you do your weekly shop look out for Edamame soybeans and activate the many isoflavone benefits.

Minimise Allergic Reactions And More With These 4 Flavonol Benefits

January 25th, 2012 No comments
The flavonols are group of powerful, health boosting phytonutrients that can be found in fruits, vegetables and teas. Their benefits include reducing allergic reactions and keeping your vision strong. In this article I will be taking a deeper look at these plant based nutrients and providing a full breakdown of 4 flavonol benefits.

1) BOOSTING YOUR SKIN HEALTH:

1 of the important flavonol benefits is that they protect the collagen (the main protein in animal connective tissues) in your body from damage. Collagen is crucial for healthy skin and helps to reduce wrinkles and keep it firm.

2) KEEPING YOUR BLOOD HEALTHY:

Your blood has various roles in the human body. It supplies oxygen to the cells that need it, removes waste materials from the body and helps fight disease and infection (in the form of white blood cells). The good news is that the flavonols work very hard to keep your blood healthy

minimise allergic reactions

For starters, they improve circulation and prevent atherogenesis (a condition where hard plaques form within your artery walls). In addition to this they prevent arteriosclerosis (a condition where your arteries harden and lose elasticity) and prevent haemophilia (a condition that causes uncontrollable bleeding and makes it difficult for wounds to heal). Finally, they strengthen the capillaries (the smallest blood vessels in the human body) and lower blood levels of low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (a type of cholesterol that builds up in the artery walls and causes blockages).

3) MINIMISING ALLERGIC REACTIONS:

When you are allergic to something your body responds by releasing histamine (a chemical that causes allergic symptoms such as itching, sneezing, swelling and redness). This can cause you to experience these uncomfortable symptoms every time you come into contact with an allergen. Fortunately, 1 of the useful flavonol benefits is that they act as antihistamines (a substance which works against histamine and negates these allergic symptoms) and minimise the effect allergies have on your body.

4) SUPPORTING HEALTHY VISION:

As you age your vision usually suffers and you are more likely to experience vision disorders. The good news is that the flavonols can reduce the effect age has on your eyes and help you avoid these age related disorders. Studies have shown that they can keep you safe from both cataracts (clouding on the lenses of the eyes) and glaucoma (a disease that damages the optic nerve and reduces vision).

SUMMARY:

Whilst you can technically survive without flavonols, you really should make the effort to include them in your diet. They can be found in a wide range of natural foods with apples, almonds, berries, peppers, spinach and tea being just some of the many sources. So tuck into these foods and start activating these powerful flavonol benefits.

What Exactly Is Diverticulitis?

January 25th, 2012 No comments

Diverticulitis is generally an disease of tiny, bulging pouches in the lining of the large intestine. Symptoms can consist of nausea and vomiting, bloated tummy or gas, fever, and discomfort in the left lower side of the abdominal area. The critical indicators contain acute abdominal discomfort and notable change in your bowel routines. The minor instances of diverticulitis can be treated with rest, adjustments in your diet and antibiotics.

On the other hand, serious cases of diverticulitis may need a surgery.

Just what exactly can cause the intestinal pouches to shape in the first place?

That is a difficult question to answer, but doctors claim not getting a sufficient amount of dietary fiber is a probable culprit. When I first had diverticulitis, the pains was unbearable. The discomfort was so extreme, I could not carry out my daily routines. I did not have surgery, but I did take a number of dietary supplements and improved my way of living altogether. I must say my experience with Diverticulitis was a bad one. In the beginning, the pain was tolerable but as time went on I knew I had to go see a doctor.

I am living much better life these days. Specifically, I am looking at my diet more closely than ever before. When people ingest a diet that focuses on processed foods, some people are likely to become constipated. Pressuring to get rid of the bowels could cause the pouches (diverticuli) to form, and when tiny portions of stool lodge in these pouches, diverticulitis results.

For younger people out there, the good news regarding Diverticulitis are common, specially after age 40. Nevertheless, it would definitely be good to reduce consumption of processed foods, coffee, tea, and avoid specified foods altogether. It is significant to exercise regularly and consume balanced meals. As I mentioned in the article above, you will need to intake significant amount of dietary fiber for excellent bowel activity. There are many foods with great dietary fiber and I strongly advise sweet potatoes and yogurt. In terms of exercise, it is significant for you to exercise daily. I would advise cardio exercise, simply because your movement will help the bowel movement. The discomfort of diverticulitis is really unpleasant and it is wise for you to exercise daily and eat good food to maintain you in the finest shape ever.

Cesium Chloride: One of the Most Proven and Potent Cancer Cures

January 24th, 2012 No comments
Cesium is a highly alkaline mineral that has proven to be effective in treating various forms of cancer. In fact, cesium chloride is so effective that it has been used to successfully treat stage four cancer patients as well as those who suffer from cancers like lymphoma and leukemia, even though the cancer has already metastasized throughout the entire body.

Best of all, it is one of the least expensive cancer cures in the world, unlike chemotherapy and radiation treatments that can leave patients and families financially ruined.

cesium chloride

Brief History of Cesium Chloride

Cesium chloride’s cancer fighting properties were discovered back in the 1930s when A. Keith Brewer, a physicist, became involved in cancer research and developed a treatment protocol that was based on the potent alkaline mineral. The cancer treatment he developed was so effective that all 30 patients in his trial survived various forms of cancer.

Later trials conducted by another cancer researcher, Dr. H.E. Sartori in 1981 also delivered similar results with one notable exception – all of his patients were considered terminal or “end of life” – in other words, doctors had already written them off, yet Sartori’s cancer treatment protocol helped half of his patients survive when modern medicine and all of the supposed advanced cancer cures had failed!

How Cesium Chloride Works

Cancerous cells in the body do not receive enough oxygen because they have a hardened outer membrane that is all but impenetrable. Without sufficient oxygen, these cells cannot oxidize glucose for energy but must instead rely on fermentation to generate the fuel they need to survive. Unfortunately, this process increases the presence of lactic acid, which short-circuits the cell’s ability to control cell growth, leading to the rampant, uncontrolled cell growth that is associated with cancer.

Fortunately, cesium chloride has the unique ability to penetrate the hardened membranes of these cancerous cells. After breaching the outer defenses of cancer cells, cesium chloride, with its high alkalinity, raises the cell’s pH levels back to normal and prevents the cell from fermenting glucose for energy, which effectively causes the cancerous cells to starve.

Best of all, this treatment protocol only targets cancer cells, not healthy ones unlike the widespread, untargeted devastation that chemotherapy, radiation and other supposed cancer cures cause to any and all cells in their path.

The Most Potent Cancer Cure You Never Heard About

There’s a reason why most cancer patients have never heard of cesium chloride, despite the fact that its effectiveness has been known for 80 years – the medical community and drug companies are greedy! They would rather continue pushing ineffective and outrageously expensive toxic chemical treatments rather than accept the fact that an effective, inexpensive cure was found decades ago.

Health practitioners using cesium chloride protocols on their patients have even been attacked by the Medical Community, which means that many patients end up treating themselves. Fortunately, unlike other cancer cures, cesium chloride is a treatment protocol that requires very little supervision or knowledge, which makes it an attractive alternative to the treatments currently being pushed by the mainstream medical community.

Heterochromia Causes

January 24th, 2012 No comments
Here in this article you are going to learn what causes heterochromia. As you may have already know heterochromia iridum is an eye condition which results in a difference in eye coloration. This is generally due to a lack of melanine pigment or an excess of it. Melanine pigment is what gives skin, hair and eyes their colour in humans and other animals. There are two kinds of heterochromia complete and partial or otherwise known as sectoral.

Complete heterochromia is very rare in humans and it results in having two completely different coloured eyes for example one blue eye and one brown eye. Complete is more common in animals like dogs and cats and nearly always results in them having one blue eye. Partial or sectoral results in having part of an eye a different colour than the rest. In Partial the outside of the iris is the true colour of the iris. A form of partial or sectoral is central heterochromia where the center ring of the iris is a different colour than the mid peripheral of the iris. Central is more common than complete in humans. Below are some causes off having different coloured eyes..

Congenital heterochromia causes

This is usually inherited as an autosomal dominant trait. An autosomal dominant trait is a gene on one of the non sex chromosones that is always expressed even if there is only one copy of it present. A single copy of the mutation is enough to cause a difference in eye colouration. This is in contrast to a recessive disorder where two copies of the mutation are needed to cause a disease or condition. Other causes of a difference in eye colouration include injury, inflammation, eye drops or tumours. These types of causes are called aquired heterochromia.

Aquired heterochromia causes

Aquired heterochromia means aquiring heterochromia rather than inheriting it. This can be done through injury, inflammation, eye drops or tumours. David bowie appears to have heterochromia however his eye was damaged in a fight and remains dilated which gives the appearance of him having different coloured eyes. Eye drops that have been used by glaucoma patients often leads to them becoming heterochromic. Heterochromia can also be aquired through tumours and a variety of different diseases.
